About Fulton and Inoue
Naoya Inoue and Stephen Fulton will square off on May 7 in Yokohama, Japan, for Fulton’s unified 122-pound championship, according to Top Rank, the American promoter of Inoue. The two sides had previously reached an arrangement for the fight, which will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the US on Sunday morning, according to an earlier report from ESPN in January. The top-rated 122-pound boxer on ESPN, Stephen Fulton, will compete against Naoya Inoue, a well-known Japanese boxer who is presently ranked second on ESPN’s pound-for-pound list. Inoue, affectionately known as “The Monster,” won the undisputed bantamweight championship in December of last year by stopping Paul Butler in the eleventh round in Tokyo, unifying all four 118-pound championships. Inoue revealed in January that he would be leaving everything.
He is getting ready to run at 122 pounds and has four belts. Inoue will have the opportunity to establish his supremacy in his new weight class right away if he faces Fulton. Stephen Fulton is not only the best boxer at 122 pounds; he’s also one of the top boxers overall, pound-for-pound, with a 21-0 record and eight knockouts.
